Ways You can Assist SBA

SBA does not involve itself in the uncomfortable practice of soliciting friends and family members of our students with "fund raisers" throughout the year. We believe that the Lord will provide the things we need throughout the year. We fully understand that God, often times, uses His people to meet these needs. With this in mind we list the following as ways you can assist SBA.

Prayer for our teachers, students and volunteers is always needed.

1. Contribute financially to the general fund of SBA. Although gifts of any size are appreciated, you may use the following as a guide; Contributer - one time gift, Supporter - $10.00 a month, Partner - $25.00 a month.

2. Purchase cafeteria supplies such as paper plates, napkins, plastic spoons and forks, 12 once styrofoam cups, ...etc

3. Purchase classroom supplies such as Dry-Erase Markers, pencils, facial tissue, copy paper, hand soap...etc

4. Purchase playground equipment such as basketballs, footballs, volleyballs, horse shoes, board games, puzzles...etc

5. Contribute to our scholarship program. (See Scholarship Program in menu)

Barnabas Bucks?

Acts 4:34-37

“Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold, And laid [them] down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need. And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, [and] of the country of Cyprus, Having land, sold [it], and brought the money, and laid [it] at the apostles' feet.”

In these verses, we see the attitude and work of the early church. Many with houses and land sold them and gave the money to the Apostles, who in turn distributed to each man or family according to their needs. This was done, not by force, but, because of the deep love that they had one toward another.

We are given the name of one man in particular, a man the Apostles called Barnabas, which means “The Son of Consolation”. To console means to provide comfort or refreshment. Barnabas gave that which he had so that others would be encouraged, comforted and refreshed.

We are looking for some Barnabas’s. Individuals or families who would consider contributing funds to SBA for the sole purpose of encouraging, comforting, and refreshing the students and teachers. Funds could be given to purchase those little “extras” needed in the classroom or playground that make learning easier and perhaps more fun. Barnabas’s may provide the funds to purchase lunch for the entire school. You might consider a gift card to Education Station or another school supply store or even a gift card to a local restaurant for the teacher to have an evening off. These are but a few ideas as to how you can be a source of encouragement to the students and teachers of SBA.

You may not be able to do something each month, but in the month or months that you are able, should you feel led to become a Barnabas, simply send in the amount you wish to contribute with a letter explaining how you wish the funds to be spent.

Thank you for your continued support,
