The Best Thing You Can Do For Your Child!

Psalm 127:1,3 “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh [but] in vain. Lo, children [are] an heritage of the LORD: [and] the fruit of the womb [is his] reward.”

The Word of God tells us that children are a gift from the Lord. Unfortunately, many today see them as an inconvenience and an obstacle in the way of them enjoying life. This is evidenced by the 3,500 babies that are murdered each day in the name of choice.

Children are entrusted to us by God. He places them into our lives intending that we teach them His ways. Ephesians 6:4 “And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.”

Education is important. We believe in it and we know that you do as well. You have demonstrated that by your interest in our academy. But providing an education is not the best thing that you can do for your child. Neither is providing nutrition, or health care, or insurance, or financial security. These are all important and commendable, but the best thing you can do for your child is to be sure that he or she has a Christian parent!

There is no greater “classroom” than the home. We try to provide a godly atmosphere where the children entrusted to us can learn academics as well as their responsibility to the Lord. Sometimes confusion arises when the principles taught at school are not reinforced in the home. The Bible warns that a house divided against itself cannot stand.

So what does it mean to be a Christian?

The word Christian means to be Christ-like. None of us can be completely like Christ. Jesus Christ was God, robed in flesh. He lived a sinless life. The Bible says that all of us are sinners. Romans 3:23 “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” That is, we have sinned against the Holy God and have missed the mark. The God of the Bible is a holy, perfect God. He will not, and cannot, accept anything less than holiness. Therefore, God came in the person of Jesus Christ to be the propitiation for our sins. Jesus Christ brought peace between sinful men and a Holy God. Only through faith (trust) in the Lord Jesus Christ can we be pardoned from the penalty of sin, which is ultimate separation from God in an eternal place the Bible calls Hell. The Word of God tells us that Jesus became sin for us, that our sins were placed upon Him and we received His righteousness.

A person becomes a "Christian" by repenting of their sin and receiving the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Repentance means that we agree with God that we are a sinner and that we turn from our wickedness and place our faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. It is not enough just to believe that Jesus was a real person of history. It is not enough to simply believe in His works and deeds while here on earth. You must place your trust in Him. You must believe that His death on the cross is sufficient payment for your sins. You must believe that God raised Him from the dead.

Romans 10:9,10 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."

After placing faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, we are admonished to follow His example and be baptized under the authority of one of His churches where we can grow in our relationship with Him.

The church is to a Christian what the home is to a child. It is a place of instruction, support, acceptance, love, and fulfillment.

Our church exist to be a witness of God’s grace and mercy. It is a place where the Word of God is preached in its entirety, a place where Christians congregate regularly to worship the Lord and are instructed in how we are to serve Him.

If you do not have a church home, one where the Word of God is being preached, one where you are growing in your relationship to the Lord, then why not visit with us.
